Content Policy
Last Updated: March 2026
Paint My Nutcracker is a creative tool for designing nutcrackers. We want everyone to have fun here, so we have a few ground rules about what you can (and can't) put on the site.
What gets filtered
All user-submitted text (design names, poll titles, AI prompts, profile info) and uploaded images (custom materials) are automatically screened before they're stored. We use a combination of local word filters and OpenAI's Moderation API to catch:
- Profanity and slurs
- Harassment or hate speech
- Sexual content
- Violence or graphic content
- Self-harm content
What happens when content is flagged
If your text or image is flagged, the request is rejected with an error and a message explaining what went wrong. Your content is not saved or published. Flagged submissions are logged for review so we can improve the filters over time.
False positives
Automated filters aren't perfect. If your perfectly innocent nutcracker name gets caught by accident, just rephrase and try again. We've put effort into avoiding false positives (no, "classic nutcracker" won't get flagged), but edge cases happen.
What we don't moderate
The nutcracker editor itself is freeform — you can paint colors you want on the canvas. Content filtering applies to text inputs and uploaded images, not to the colors or existing patterns you apply to your nutcracker.
Appeals
We don't have a formal appeals process yet. If you think your content was wrongly flagged and rephrasing doesn't help, reach out and we'd be glad to help.
